The Village Snow Warden Service

The snow warden aims to grit the "primary route" through the village in the event of snow being forecast or observed. The "primary route" is shown on the map below.

The service is very kindly provided by Cllr Paul Wingrove, but is only aimed at gritting the primary route in the event of predicted snowfall and not simply where ice may be present on untreated roads.

In the event of ice on untreated public roads in the Parishes, people are encouraged to stop and use the bags of grit or grit bins proved by DCC Highways Dept as a means of self help.

Please take care on slippery roads, especially where fog is also present.

The Parish Council has provided salt bags for villagers' use.
You are welcome to take one per household free of charge
(available from the Village Hall / Shop car park)
